There is no person of birth and death. If one reckons that there is an 'I' that escapes transmigration, that is still failing to escape the attachment to self. Only when self and what belongs to self are forgotten does liberation occur; this is precisely illuminating the five aggregates as empty and crossing over all distress. Outwardly leaving behind the world, inwardly shedding body and mind: not reckoning the body, the body is identical with empty space; not reckoning the mind, the mind is identical with the dharmadhātu.
