10.214

第三經云「爾時世尊復告金剛手祕密主言：諦聽諦聽」者，前已問佛，𠇍騰前答之，故無問自說也。如真言教法，成就彼果者，謂真言行人如於法教，依於正教而修法行，此行善成得悉地果。佛意言：若有眾生欲得成就如上大果者，先當依此品次第而修行之，即是最初發足處也。

The third roll of the sūtra states, 'At that time the Bhagavān addressed Vajrapāṇi, Lord of Secrets, again, saying: "Listen attentively, listen attentively!"' Because he had questioned the Buddha previously, [the Buddha] now took up the earlier reply; thus he spoke without being asked. As for accomplishing those fruits in accordance with the mantra teaching, it means that a mantra practitioner practices according to the teaching and relies on the correct teaching to cultivate the practice of the method; when this practice is successfully perfected, one obtains the fruit of siddhi. The Buddha's meaning is: if there are sentient beings who wish to accomplish such great fruits as above, they must first cultivate according to the sequence of this chapter, which is the very first starting point.
