13.36

次作施無畏手印。左手如前持衣二角，舒而當臍，右手指向上而向外舒之，如拓物之像（如瑜伽中釋迦印即是也）。若作此印，能除一切眾生種種怖畏，愛恚即時皆息，亦除彼未來種種大可怖畏也。其真言歸命如前。

Next is the Gesture Seal of Bestowing Fearlessness (Abhayapradāna). The left hand holds the two corners of the robe as before, extended level with the navel; the fingers of the right hand point upward and extend outward, in the manner of supporting an object (it is identical to the Śākyamuni seal in yoga texts). If one makes this seal, it can remove all the various terrors of all sentient beings; attachment and wrath are stilled at once, and it also removes the various greatly terrifying things in their future. Its homage mantra is as before.
