第三印，如前作，即三補吒合掌，其二水火指開張，其地風指先以開張作初割花形。此如來藏印，亦名蓮花藏印也。漫荼羅如前作圓月輪，但以四蓮圍之為異耳，中亦觀大日如來。其真言：

As for the third mudrā, form it as before, namely with a saṃpuṭa añjali; the two water and fire fingers are separated, and the earth and wind fingers, having been opened earlier, form the shape of a newly blooming flower. This is the tathāgatagarbha mudrā, also called the lotus-garbha mudrā. The maṇḍala is made as a round moon disc as before, differing only in being surrounded by four lotuses; within it one likewise visualizes Mahāvairocana Tathāgata. Its mantra is:
