The forty-second: "What is the wind mind? It is having the nature of arising everywhere." The nature of wind is scattered and turbulent because it does not abide. This person's mind is also like this: they plant roots of virtue indiscriminately everywhere, thinking they should have a share in worldly non-Buddhist paths, various celestial deities, and the practices of the three vehicles, thinking: "Just like sowing many seeds everywhere, some will surely bear fruit." One should know that this is the wind mind. Reflecting that a stony field is barren and seeds are wasted in vain, and that one should seek a fertile, rich field of merit and plow it with a focused mind so that what is harvested will certainly be abundant, serves as its antidote.
