20.37

觀音院大僧都寬意、大御室性信御付法也。式部卿敦貞親王御息東寺，第二長者存日辭退高野山御籠居云云　從嘉保二年至寬永六年五百三十五年也。

Transmitted by Kan'i, Senior Superintendent of the Kannon-in, and the Great Omuro [Cloistered Prince] Shōshin. He was the son of Imperial Prince Atsusada, Minister of the Ministry of Ceremonial (Shikibu-kyō); while serving as the second chōja of Tō-ji, he resigned to live in seclusion on Mount Kōya, it is said. From the second year of Kahō [1095] to the sixth year of Kan'ei [1629] is 535 years.
