These false thoughts can damage the dharmakāya and harm the life of wisdom; the dharma-wealth of merit is lost because of them, and therefore they are called 'thieves'. Being deluded, one does not recognize them, but takes them to be truly constant, expecting an heir from one's own lineage, only to suffer ruin, loss, and poverty across kalpas; hence one 'loses original constancy and undergoes transmigration.' Thus the text below says: 'You take the blurred and agitated appearances to be the mind's nature. Deluded once into taking this as mind, you are determinedly confused into thinking it is within the physical body, not knowing that the physical body, outward to the mountains, rivers, space, and the great earth, are all things within the wondrous, luminous, true mind. Casting away the great sea, you recognize only a floating bubble—a doubled delusion among the deluded, truly pitiable.'
