若汝堅執無常之心是真性者，應合法身同於斷滅，以法身體即真性故。法身若斷，依何修行證無生忍。若了如來藏心本周法界，本無生滅，含裹十方，寧有方所。凡夫身心如影如像，執此影像為佛性者，一何鄙哉！

"If you stubbornly cling to this impermanent mind as being the true nature, it should follow that the Dharmakāya is identical to total annihilation, because the substance of the Dharmakāya is the true nature itself. If the Dharmakāya were annihilated, relying on what would one cultivate and realize the forbearance of non-arising? If you comprehend that the tathāgatagarbha-mind originally pervades the dharmadhātu, originally has neither arising nor ceasing, and contains within it the ten directions, how could it have any localized place? The body and mind of an ordinary being are like shadows and reflections; to cling to these shadows and reflections as the Buddha-nature—how base is that!"
