1.55

智堪遺付也。常隨從佛，轉大法輪。法有摧輾業煩惱義，喻之若輪。自既摧破惑障，亦能轉教令他破惑。於一法中作無量說，一一逗機、一一稱性，以善巧方便令其得入如來知見。妙好堪任，護付法藏，令燈燈相然、明明不絕。囑法令傳，囑生令度，總名遺囑也。

Their wisdom is capable of receiving the entrustment. Constantly following the Buddha, turning the great wheel of Dharma. Dharma has the meaning of crushing karmic afflictions, metaphorical like a wheel. Having themselves crushed delusions and hindrances, they can also transmit the teaching to cause others to crush delusions. Within one Dharma making immeasurable expositions, each matching capacity and each tallying with nature, with skillful means causing them to enter the Tathāgata's knowledge and vision. Wonderfully well-suited and capable of protecting and receiving the Dharma treasury, causing lamp to ignite lamp, radiance unceasing. Bequeathing the Dharma so it may be transmitted, bequeathing sentient beings so they may be delivered—collectively called "bequeathal".
