1.94

正云曼殊室利，此云妙吉祥，或妙德。下文將神呪、揀圓通，與奪眾心，無私不伏，智德之尊，故標上首。前文十方菩薩咨決心疑，今此復云恒沙來聚者，或因結上首重指前文，或因前說法聲遍十方，後始來集，二義無在。

Correctly called Mañjuśrī, translated here as "Wondrous Auspiciousness" or "Wondrous Virtue." In the text below, he brandishes the divine dhāraṇī and selects perfect penetration, winning and directing the minds of the assembly, so that without partiality none fail to submit; being the most venerable in wisdom and virtue, he is marked as the leader. The earlier text said "Bodhisattvas of the ten directions consulted to resolve their doubts of mind," and now this text again says "those like the sands of the Ganges gathered"; either it re-indicates the earlier text due to concluding the leaders, or they first gathered afterward because the sound of preaching the Dharma pervaded the ten directions; either of the two meanings is acceptable.
