初約色蘊具出四句，皆云死後有相，如是循環，例作後三陰十二句也。固身者，固，堅也，堅執現今形色是我本體。色陰既爾，受想行等例此而作，成十六句。

First, with respect to the aggregate of form, four propositions are fully set forth, all saying there are characteristics after death; cycling like this, by analogy twelve propositions are formulated for the remaining three aggregates. 'Consolidating the body': 'consolidate' means firm; he firmly clings to the present physical form as the fundamental body of the self. The aggregate of form being thus, sensation, perception, formations, and so forth are formulated by analogy to this, completing the sixteen propositions.
