命體即識陰也。以命、煖、識三俱時而轉，識既已離，命煖隨亡，故超命濁。罔象虛無者，此是覺明初起影象之相，攬此妄想虛無影象以為識體，即業轉二相也。

The substance of life is the aggregate of consciousness itself. Because life, warmth, and consciousness turn together at the same time, once consciousness has been departed from, life and warmth perish along with it; therefore one transcends the life turbidity. 'Indistinct and insubstantial' refers to the forms of shadows and images when the clarity of awakening first arises; grasping these vainly imagined, insubstantial shadows and images to be the substance of consciousness constitutes the two marks of karma and transformation.
