竇，孔穴也。若執夾令見斷，應可接之令見相續，若相接者應有續跡。
"Hole" (dou) means an aperture. If one clings to the view that [seeing] is compressed and severed, it should be possible to join it and cause the seeing to be continuous; if it were rejoined, there should be traces of reconnection.
