前顯諸法唯心，故云若能轉物。不了斯旨，妄謂見在眼前，雖形其言，實無斯理。

Earlier, the Buddha revealed that all dharmas are mind-only, hence saying, 'if one can turn objects.' Failing to understand this principle, [Ānanda] falsely claimed that seeing is before his eyes; although he gave voice to these words, in reality there is no such principle.
