The three associated defilements are called 'coming together,' and the three unassociated defilements are called 'not coming together.' These are coarse and subtle false thoughts, which the Awakening of Faith calls the 'defiled mind,' the root of birth and death, the cause of saṃsāra. If one can distance oneself from them, arising and perishing will be extinguished; arising and perishing being extinguished, tranquil extinction becomes manifest. The two fruits of transformation—bodhi and nirvāṇa—are thereby accomplished; hence it says 'fully accomplish.' This is identical to the Awakening of Faith: by distancing oneself from subtle thoughts, one is able to see the mind-nature; the mind permanently abides, which is called ultimate awareness.
