見與明合，暗相現時明相必滅，既與明合，應隨明滅，不應見暗。設使不滅亦不見暗，以此不與諸暗合故，合即有見，不合無見，如鼻聞香。

If seeing joins with light, when the mark of darkness manifests, the mark of light must perish. Since it joined with light, it should perish along with light, and one should not see darkness. Even if it did not perish, it would still not see darkness, because it does not join with darkness. If it joins, there is seeing; if it does not join, there is no seeing—just as the nose smelling fragrance.
