2.58

敘其淺悟，但云捨生趣生；鞠彼深意，必知滅元不滅。隨宜領解，主伴同致，未即顯言也。

This recounts his shallow awakening, merely stating that he would discard one life and proceed to another; if one probes its profound meaning, he must have known that extinction is fundamentally non-extinction. He understood according to what was appropriate; host and retinue attained the same purport, but he did not express it explicitly at once.
