From here down refutes arising from the eyes. Just as when a person goes out of a room there must be an entering: since the eyes possess sight and can produce the flowers, the flowers ought to have sight; going out from the eyes they can flower in space, and returning from space to the eyes they ought to see the eyes. If the nature of these flowers, though coming out of the eyes, lacks sight, then it is merely a cataract. Since going out from the eyes it veils empty space, when returning to the eyes it ought to veil the eyes. If you insist that in fact it does not form a cataract and does not hinder seeing the flowers, then since without cataracts on the eyes one can see the flowers, seeing clear and bright space should mean cataracts on the eyes; why then is seeing space called clear eyes?
