破水生流也。流從水生，水與瀑流兩體應異。水為能生，流為所生，如樹生果，果不是樹。二俱現在，今且不然，如何因水耶？

Refuting water producing the flow. If the flow arose from water, water and the rushing torrent should have two different substances. Water would be the producer and the flow would be the produced, like a tree producing fruit, where the fruit is not the tree. Both would be present right now; but that is not the case now, so how could it be due to water?
