「若復汝耳往彼聲邊，如我歸住祇陀林中，在室羅城則無有我，汝聞鼓聲，其耳已往擊鼓之處，鐘聲齊出，應不俱聞，何況其中象馬牛羊種種音響。」

"If your ear went to that sound's side, it would be like me returning to dwell in the Jeta Grove: being in the city of Śrāvastī, I would not be there; when you hear the drum sound, your ear having already gone to the place where the drum is beaten, when the bell sound is produced at the same time, you should not hear both together, let alone the various sounds of elephants, horses, oxen, and sheep therein."
