破共生也。初二句正破中界，根境各生尚非，共生豈有此理。後三句顯無根塵，對邊立中，中既不成，邊亦不立也。

This refutes joint arising. The first two sentences directly refute the intermediate realm: since arising from faculty and realm separately is untenable, how could there be any sense in their joint arising? The last three sentences demonstrate the absence of faculty and dust: the middle is established relative to the extremes; since the middle is not established, the extremes cannot stand either.
