「阿難！名和合者，如我與汝一千二百五十比丘今為一眾，眾雖為一，詰其根本各各有身，皆有所生民族名字，如舍利弗婆羅門種，優盧頻螺迦葉波種，乃至阿難瞿曇種姓。」

"Ānanda! What is called combination is like me and you twelve hundred and fifty monks now being a single assembly. Although the assembly is one, when inquiring into its root, each person has his own body, and all have their ancestral clan and name from birth, such as Śāriputra of the Brahmin clan, Uruvilvā of the Kāśyapa clan, and even Ānanda of the Gautama clan."
