4.370

捐棄，畢盡也。疇昔，往日也。無餘者，無明永盡，二死已亡，究竟之無餘也。願示我等如來本昔因地發心入涅槃道，即真三昧也，故云本發心路。攀緣妄想無始本有，故云疇昔。如何攝歛折而伏之令得佛慧，故云入佛知見。

'Abandon' means discard; 'ultimately' means completely. 'Past' means former days. 'Without remainder' means avidyā is eternally exhausted, the two deaths have ceased; it is the ultimate non-remainder. Wishing to show us the path by which the Tathāgata originally on the causal ground made the resolve to enter nirvāṇa, which is the true samādhi, hence it says 'the path of the original initial resolve.' Grasping after conditions and delusive thinking have originally existed from the beginningless; hence 'past.' How to gather, break down, and subdue them to attain the Buddha's wisdom, hence 'enter the Buddha's knowledge and vision.'
