「如澄濁水貯於靜器，靜深不動，沙土自沈，清水現前，名為初伏客塵煩惱。去泥純水，名為永斷根本無明。明相精純，一切變現不為煩惱，皆合涅槃清淨妙德。」

"Just like clearing turbid water by storing it in a quiet vessel: when quiet, deep, and motionless, the sand and earth spontaneously settle, and the clear water appears before you; this is called initially subduing the adventitious afflictions. Removing the mud and leaving pure water is called permanently severing fundamental avidyā. When the appearance of brightness is pure and refined, none of the myriad transformations and manifestations constitute afflictions; all accord with the pure, wondrous virtues of nirvāṇa."
