Great space is the tathāgatagarbha. The various vessels are the six dusts. The different spaces are the six faculties. The substance of the dharmadhātu-garbha is neither one nor six; because dusts arouse knowing, the differences of the six faculties are formed. If the dusts are not conditioned, the faculties have no counterpart; since six is not established, one is also not accomplished. If there is not even the name of sameness or difference, how could the characteristics of one and six be posited?
