勝義根色屬不可見，而有對礙，故寄世俗根所依處蒲萄之相，表顯勝義。奔取本境明暗之相，故云流逸奔色。下之五根大意皆然，故不細釋，例如此知。

The form of the subtle faculty belongs to the invisible, yet it has physical resistance; therefore, by borrowing the grape-like form of the locus on which the conventional faculty relies, the subtle is manifested. It rushes out to seize the characteristics of light and darkness in its original sphere; hence it says 'they drift out and rush after form.' The general meaning of the five faculties below is identical to this, so they are not explained in detail; they should be understood by analogy.
