Seeing, hearing, feeling, and knowing are brought forth by dusts and ultimately have no substantial entity; the present [state] is not like these—this is to eliminate the false. The text from "luminosity does not..." downward reveals the true, meaning that true, wonderful, and enlightened luminosity does not conform to faculties and objects; that is, it does not arise following conditions nor does it arise due to objects. Clear and self-aware, this is indeed the luminosity of nature. The Sūtra of Perfect Enlightenment also states: "Awareness and luminosity free of [dualistic] knowledge do not depend on various obstructions." This also eliminates false cognition and reveals the true luminosity. How could it depend on faculties and dusts before manifesting? Therefore it says "relying"; it is because of this relying that they function interchangeably.
