When the mind-nature goes wild, seeing and hearing are falsely separated, and the three—faculties, objects, and consciousnesses—all appear simultaneously. Birth-and-death is designated as the six; nirvāṇa is called the one. Established through mutual opposition, they originally have no existence, and are therefore like the phantom imagery of flowers born of frantic strain. Because of the three kinds of worlds, it is called 'all'; the realm of the buddhas, the realm of sentient beings, and all realms whatsoever do not depart from this, because they arise from discriminative, false thoughts, and because apart from the mind there are no realms of the six dusts.
