「阿難！吾今問汝，此劫波羅巾六結現前，同時解縈得同除不？」「不也。世尊！是結本以次第綰生，今日當須次第而解。六結同體，結不同時，則結解時云何同除？」

"Ānanda! I now ask you: before us are six knots on this karpāsa cloth; can they be untied and disentangled all at the same time and removed at once?" "No, World-Honoured One! These knots were originally tied one after another, and today they must be untied in sequence. The six knots share the same body, but the tying was not simultaneous; then when the knots are untied, how could they be removed at once?"
