5.180

堪任補處，紹繼佛種令不斷故，名法王子。五百梵天是彼徒屬，未詳緣起。敘昔為醫，能療眾疾，嘗藥知味，分別性用，對治不差。昔既妙辯味塵，今亦因此發悟。

Being capable of occupying the stage of succession and continuing the lineage of the Buddha so that it is not broken, they are called Dharma Princes. The five hundred Brahmā gods were their retinue; their karmic origin is not detailed. They recount that in the past they were physicians able to cure all illnesses, tasting medicines to know their flavors, distinguishing their natures and functions, and applying remedies without error. Since in the past they wonderfully discerned the dust of flavors, now through this they also brought forth awakening.
