初觀息風念念生滅，微細窮盡，生滅無從。息風既空，心亡分別，豁然大悟一切無礙，此則豈唯對治散亂，亦乃見息實相矣。

Initially he contemplated the wind of the breath arising and ceasing thought after thought; when subtly exhausted, arising and ceasing have nowhere to come from. Once the wind of breath was empty, the mind lost all discrimination, opening up in great awakening, unhindered in all things. This was not only an antidote to distraction, but also a seeing of the true mark of the breath.
