「世尊！我及會中有學聲聞亦復如是，從無始際與諸無明俱滅俱生，雖得如是多聞善根，名為出家，猶隔日瘧。」

"World-Honoured One, I and the śrāvakas in the assembly who are still in training are also like this: from the beginningless limit, we have ceased and arisen together with all avidya. Although we have attained such roots of goodness through extensive hearing and are called renunciants, we are still like those with quartan malaria."
