The perfect penetration of the ear faculty encompasses all five faculties; it accords with all buddhas, and their exposition and realization are identical. As for “the great bodhisattvas and arhats,” they are the twenty-five sages who previously spoke of perfect penetration; it seals their expositions as all being correct and none being non-penetrative, and therefore he emitted precious light to pour over their crowns. That “the grove of trees and the ponds all expounded the sounds of Dharma” means that since it is called perfect penetration, self and other are in common resonance, and wisdom pervades all things—what dharma is not proclaimed? That the interlocking light was like a net means the great teaching was completely unfolded.
