The perfectly clear body of enlightenment originally illuminates clearly, but deluded awareness does not understand and takes it to be an objective mark. Once the object is falsely established, a false subject arises, producing ultimate existence out of absolute non-existence; hence it is called “giving rise to an object,” not that it is produced from the true. Once the dark mark appears, the luminous nature is concealed; being concealed, it is said to “vanish.”
