陳如悟四諦聲妙音密圓,於是得道。今此揀云:音聲不離諸雜語言,語言即是名句文耳。名句詮顯各有分限,以名詮自性,句詮差別。文即是字,為二所依,故非一能含一切也。伊,猶是也。

Kauṇḍinya awakened to the four truths through sound, wonderful sound being secretly perfect, and thereupon attained the Way. Now this evaluation states: Sound is not separate from various mixed spoken words, and words are simply names, phrases, and syllables. Names and phrases express meanings that each have limitations, for names express intrinsic nature and phrases express distinctions. Syllables are letters, which serve as the basis for the two; hence a single one cannot contain all. Yi means “is.”
