憍梵鉢提觀味之知非體非物，還味旋知，成無學果。今云舌入非是無端自有，由味、境合方有覺知，境滅知亡，未為通貫。

Gavāmpati contemplated that the awareness of taste is neither a substance nor a thing; returning taste and turning knowing back, he achieved the fruit of non-learning. Here it is said: the tongue-entry does not exist without cause of its own accord; only through the conjunction of taste and sense-realm does perception exist; when the realm ceases, knowing disappears, so it is not yet fully continuous.
