6.425

前云摩登伽在夢，誰能留汝形。今云縱成無為，必酬宿債者，此示業報不亡，成無為後現有為身，尚還宿債。況全未離有為而欲妄逃業果，其可得乎？引證酬業如別處說。

Previously it was said that when Mātaṅgī was in a dream, who could detain your body? Now it says that even if one realizes the unconditioned, one must repay past debts; this shows that karmic retribution is never destroyed, and even after realizing the unconditioned, when manifesting a conditioned body one still repays past debts. How much less could one who has not left the conditioned at all falsely seek to escape karmic fruit—how could that be possible? Adducing evidence for repaying karma is as explained elsewhere.
