長者具有十德：謂姓貴、位高、大富、威猛、智深、年耆、行淨、禮備、上嘆、下歸，十德具焉名大長者。
An elder possesses ten virtues: noble ancestry, high position, great wealth, imposing valor, profound wisdom, advanced age, pure conduct, complete propriety, praise from above, and allegiance from below. Possessing these ten virtues, one is called a great elder.
