6.77

修羅，醜狀而多慢。疑神，似人而戴角，蟒形，田𧈻腹行之類。因多毀戒，微行惠施，墮此道中。各願出類，皆從其欲。

Asuras are ugly in form and full of arrogance. Doubtful spirits (kiṃnara) resemble humans while bearing horns. Python forms (mahoraga) are of the kind that crawl on their bellies like field crickets. Because they often violated precepts while practicing slight generosity, they fell into these destinies. Each vows to transcend their class, and all are accorded with their desires.
