7.101

「阿難！若諸國土州縣聚落飢荒疫癘，或復刀兵、賊難鬪諍，兼餘一切厄難之地，寫此神呪安城四門并諸支提或脫闍上，令其國土所有眾生奉迎斯呪，禮拜恭敬，一心供養，令其人民各各身佩，或各各安所居宅地，一切災厄悉皆消滅。」

"Ānanda, if in any lands, prefectures, counties, or villages there is famine, epidemic, warfare, banditry, strife, or any other places of distress, if one copies this divine mantra and places it at the four city gates, on caityas, or atop dhvajas, and causes all sentient beings in that land to welcome this mantra, bow down, pay reverent respect, and make offerings with single-mindedness, and causes the people each to wear it on their bodies or place it in their dwellings, all disasters and calamities will be completely extinguished."
