8.14

「云何助因？阿難！如是世界十二類生不能自全，依四食住，所謂段食、觸食、思食、識食。是故佛說一切眾生皆依食住。」

"What are the auxiliary causes? Ānanda, the twelve classes of living beings in such worlds cannot sustain themselves; they abide relying on the four foods, namely: food by mouthfuls, food by contact, food by thought, and food by consciousness. Therefore the Buddha said that all sentient beings abide relying on food."
