8.333

此有二類：若唯有想不兼福慧，即但持戒而厭此身，必生天上；若於持戒兼修福慧，發見佛願，深厭三界，必生淨土。見十方佛即獲法忍，故云心開，如《觀經》說。

Here there are two classes: If there is only thought without accompanying merit and wisdom—that is, merely upholding precepts and loathing this body—one will definitely be born in the heavens. If, in upholding precepts, one also cultivates merit and wisdom, gives rise to vows to see the Buddha, and deeply loathes the three realms, one will definitely be reborn in a pure land. Seeing the Buddhas of the ten directions means attaining the forbearance of dharmas, which is why it says 'one's mind opens', as taught in the Contemplation Sūtra.
