8.341

不昇為天仙，不墜落三塗，仍於均等之中。想或稍強，根必聰慧；情或稍重，根必暗鈍。雖同人類，亦由情想有此差異，即別報也。

One does not ascend as a heavenly immortal, nor does one fall into the three miserable paths, yet remains within this balance. If thought is slightly stronger, one's faculties are surely clever and wise; if emotion is slightly heavier, one's faculties are surely dark and dull. Although equally human, these differences arise from emotion and thought; this is individual retribution.
