一、由因致果。此即正是所發業也，具足貪癡，生死輪迴斯為其本。內根、外境互相偶構，故云交接。內外相發遂成欲火，喻顯可知。

First, proceeding from cause to fruit. This is precisely the karma generated, fully endowed with greed and delusion, being the fundamental root of transmigration through birth and death. The internal faculties and external objects interlock with each other; hence it says 'mutual engagement'. The internal and external stimulate each other to produce the fire of desire, as is clear from the metaphor.
