誑習為因，鬼從幽魘，畜為服用。人受劬勞，役力艱辛工巧之屬。

The habit of trickery was their cause: as ghosts they were nightmare spirits in the dark, and as animals they were used for apparel and service. As humans they undergo arduous toil, exerting their strength in bitter hardship among the artisan class.
