因從見習，鬼落和精，魍魎報終畜為時應。參於人道，微有文章，非正習因，故云參合。

Their cause derived from the habit of false views: as ghosts they fell into the class of blending essences; when retribution as mountain goblins ended, as animals they were seasonal omens. Mingling in the human destiny, they possess slight literary refinement; because this is not a cause from proper habituation, it is said they 'mingle with' [them].
