9.119

由不如實知真如法一，妄認所明，分別既生，從妄積妄，故云不了等。當知修禪觀人不達此門，或空處、或無所有處、或非非想處，動經六萬八萬大劫，身心寂滅，報盡還墮，總名長壽天難。佛口親宣，那不明信。補特伽羅，此云數取趣。

Because of not knowing in accordance with reality that the dharma of tathatā is one, they falsely recognize an object of luminosity; discrimination having arisen, from falsehood they accumulate falsehood; hence it says 'failing to understand' and so forth. One should know that if practitioners who cultivate dhyāna-contemplation do not penetrate this portal, whether at the sphere of space, the sphere of nothingness, or the sphere of neither-perception-nor-non-perception, easily passing through sixty thousand or eighty thousand great kalpas with body and mind quiescent and extinguished, when the retribution is exhausted they still fall; these are all named the calamity of the long-life heavens. Personally declared by the Buddha's own mouth, how could one not clearly believe it? Pudgala: here translated as 'one who repeatedly takes rebirth in destinies'.
