「阿難！如是十種禪那現境，皆是色陰用心交互故現斯事。眾生頑迷，不自忖量，逢此因緣迷不自識，謂言登聖，大妄語成，墮無間獄。汝等當依，如來滅後於末法中宣示斯義，無令天魔得其方便，保持覆護，成無上道。」

"Ānanda, such ten kinds of states appearing in dhyāna all manifest through the mutual interaction of the aggregate of form and the application of the mind. Sentient beings are dull and confused, and do not assess themselves; encountering these conditions, they are deluded and do not recognize them for what they are, claiming to have ascended to holiness, thereby committing the great lie and falling into the Avīci Hell. After the Tathāgata's extinction, during the Dharma-Ending Age, you must rely on this and proclaim this meaning, not letting heavenly demons obtain an advantage, but preserving and protecting them so that they attain the unsurpassed path."
