9.289

精明中者，即圓定寂照中也。定中發慧，與理暫契，名圓悟精理。理智相冥得無違拒，故云隨順。由隨順故身心調暢，便謂成聖。

"Within pure clarity" means within the stillness and illumination of perfect samādhi. Wisdom arising in samādhi momentarily accords with principle, which is called 'perfectly awakening to the subtle principle.' Principle and wisdom merge without opposition, so it is said to be 'compliance.' Due to compliance, body and mind become smooth and harmonious, and they claim to have become sages.
