9.303

「阿難！如是十種禪那現境，皆是受陰用心交互，故現斯事。眾生頑迷，不自忖量，逢此因緣迷不自識，謂言登聖，大妄語成，墮無間獄。汝等亦當將如來語，於我滅後傳示末法，遍令眾生開悟斯義，無令天魔得其方便，保持覆護，成無上道。」

"Ānanda! Such ten kinds of states appearing in dhyāna are all caused by the mutual interaction of mental exertion within the aggregate of feeling, which is why these events appear. Sentient beings are stubborn and deluded, not examining themselves; encountering these circumstances, they are confused and fail to recognize them, claiming to have ascended to sagehood, thus completing a great lie and falling into the Avīci Hell. After my passing, you all must also take the Tathāgata's words and transmit and demonstrate them in the Dharma-ending Age, everywhere enabling sentient beings to awaken to this meaning, not letting the heavenly demons find an opening, preserving and protecting [them] so that they accomplish the unexcelled path."
